A game modder shows off how they reverse-engineered CAN messages for a Lada gauge cluster and displays real-time information from BeamNG.
The gauges run on the ESP32 platform, chosen for its WiFi hardware and its ease of use with the Arduino platform. This makes programming a snap, and interfacing to a smartphone easy.
Even though the gauges are designed for a 12 V system, they apparently don’t have any problem responding to the 5 V logic level from the Arduino’s pins.
