The president of Ukraine and his European allies are to visit the White House on Monday, after President Trump backed Russia’s plan to end the war.

U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, met in Anchorage, Alaska, on Aug. 15 for one of the most consequential in-person summits in years. The meeting, which lasted for nearly three hours, ended without a concrete deal.

Russia has said its demands from negotiations with Ukraine, which include Kyiv's troops pulling out of several regions in the east, haven't changed.
