CARSON, Calif. -- A second half wonder-goal from Orbelin Pineda helped Cruz Azul to a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy to advance to the inaugural Leagues Cup final against Tigres on Sept. 18 in Las Vegas.

Orlando City needs a positive result if it hopes to reach the next stage of the Leagues Cup. A win in regulation or a penalty shootout will help the Lions climb from 13th place in the standings.

Orlando was knocked out of the Leagues Cup in the Round of 32 last season. A new format in 2025 has the Lions playing three matches instead of two in the group stage, all against Liga MX teams.
