Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will be the interim coach. On a conference call Tuesday, Johnson said this Jets team was the most talented he’s ever seen assembled in New York, and he fired Saleh to give the team the best opportunity to win.

The two-time Pro Bowl cornerback said the team is "still doing it" for Saleh despite his surprising firing as head coach.

Robert Saleh was 20-36 as coach of the New York Jets, who are trying to snap the NFL’s longest active playoff drought at 13 seasons.
