CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Masters champion Rory McIlroy and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will be playing together in the opening two rounds of the PGA Championship, joined by defending champion Xander Schauffele in another group of the top three players in the world.

The 107th edition of the PGA Championship tees off Thursday morning from the stunning Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. It marks the second Major of the 2025 golf season, following Rory McIlroy’s triumphant win at the Masters earlier this year in Augusta.

The PGA Championship at Quail Hollow could offer McIlroy another shot at glory after he finally completed golf’s career Grand Slam at last month’s Masters.

DeChambeau and McIlroy made up the last group in the final round of the Masters last month and it was McIlroy who overcame a double bogey on the first hole to eventually beat Justin Rose in a play-off and complete the career grand slam.
