The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2024 includes Cher, Mary J. Blige, Kool & the Gang, the late Jimmy Buffett, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band and Dionne Warwick, among others.

Less than a year ago, Cher told Kelly Clarkson exactly what she felt about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars,” she said. “I’m not kidding you. I’m never going to change my mind. They can just you-know-what themselves.”

Though tempted to tell David Geffen, who she said wrote a letter to the Hall of Fame Foundation on her behalf, to “please take it back,” Cher said that in the end she was happy with the way things turned out. “I felt good. I can say that I’m happy that I’m in,” she says. “If I didn’t [think] it, I wouldn’t be here.”
