During his pregame press conference on Wednesday, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said that Ben Simmons will not play due to planned rest.

Nets guard Ben Simmons was inactive for Wednesday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo center.

Simmons, however, hasn’t been able to play much for the Nets. He was on the floor for the top-seed Sixers when the Atlanta Hawks pulled the second-round upset in Game 7 in 2021. Since then, he’s only played 57 games and had two back surgeries.
