We are visiting LA in August and thought this would be fun for our family with our teenage son. The reviews are not great so I am wondering if it is worth it for price? Any other suggestions if not.

Any fan of film will find merit in a visit to the Academy Museum. That said, it will not have you tapping your toes when you leave unless you are a serious film fan. I love films and found myself wanting more. The Griffith Park Observatory is incredible and the museums in Exposition Park (Natural History and Science museum) are interesting. Finally, Universal City's CityWalk can be a lot of fun (and its free except for parking). Enjoy your trip!
